THE EXPERIENCE
Departing from Ushuaia heading north on National Route N° 3, we soon enter the Fuegian valleys, admiring landscapes that combine mountains, forests, vast peat bogs, glacial rivers, and snow-capped peaks. On this route, we make our first stop at a panoramic viewpoint to capture amazing photos.
Continuing on, we are amazed by the extensive peat bogs, areas where winter sports are practiced. We pass through various winter centers, including the renowned Cerro Castor, and make a stop at one of them. There, we enjoy the scenery, learn about the activities offered, and reserve our lunch. One of the traditional dishes is the famous Fuegian lamb, though other delicious options are also available.
As we continue along the route, we begin the ascent to achieve something unique in the country: crossing the Andes Mountains at the Garibaldi Pass. This site, besides being an Andean crossing, offers an unbeatable view from the height of the great Escondido and Fagnano Lakes and their surroundings. We continue our adventure by descending once again to the lake shore, where we can touch and feel its icy water and walk along its coast.
Finally, after a great day, we return to the winter center for a well-deserved Fuegian lunch and then head back to the city.
