THE EXPERIENCE

Departing from the port of Ushuaia aboard a catamaran, we begin by sailing through the wide Ushuaia Bay, offering panoramic views of the city and harbor from the water. We then enter the heart of the Beagle Channel, where two small archipelagos near Ushuaia host a rich variety of native wildlife. One of our first stops is Bird Island, home to colonies of cormorants — seabirds similar in appearance and behavior to penguins, which build their guano nests on the rocky islets.

Continuing east, we visit Sea Lion Island, where we observe a colony of South American sea lions that live in the Beagle year-round. Along these islands, we’ll also see a diversity of seabirds such as albatrosses, petrels, ducks, oystercatchers, and gulls — and we may even spot marine mammals passing through, such as whales, seals, porpoises, and more.

After immersing ourselves in the wild beauty of the Beagle, we reach the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse — a true symbol of Ushuaia — where we pause to take photos, admire the snow-covered landscape, and experience the feeling of being at the End of the World. Before returning, and weather permitting, we make a landing on Bridges Island for a short interpretive walk, enjoying beautiful views of the channel from its trails.
