THE EXPERIENCE
We’ll pick you up from your accommodation and begin exploring this picture-perfect city. From every corner of the route, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views — the kind only a few cities in the world can offer. One of the most scenic spots is the upper area of Ushuaia, on the way to Martial Glacier, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the city, the Beagle Channel, and Chile in the distance.
Another charming and historic stop is the La Misión neighborhood — the birthplace of modern-day Ushuaia. This is where the Anglican Mission, the first non-native settlement on the island, was established. Today, it’s home to a military neighborhood, the city’s old airport, and the Yacht Club. It’s also part of the Bahía Encerrada Urban Nature Reserve, a natural haven in the heart of the city, surrounded by the Andes. Its lagoon offers even more stunning views and is known for being a habitat to around 50 bird species.
As we continue along Ushuaia’s coastline, we’ll pass various landmarks that reflect the city’s rich history — including the large Port of Ushuaia, the Naval Prefecture (the oldest institution on the island), the well-known End of the World Museum, and the moving Malvinas Memorial. This area showcases a blend of old and modern architecture, giving Ushuaia its distinctive charm. During this part of the tour, we’ll stop to take the iconic photo at the famous Ushuaia sign with its beautiful coastal backdrop.
Next, we dive into the heart of the city along San Martín Avenue, where you’ll find shops, restaurants, and some of Ushuaia’s traditional houses that make up its architectural heritage. At the end of the downtown area, we reach the Maritime and Prison Museum, a building that once housed one of the most feared prisons in Argentina, due to the extreme conditions in which inmates lived. Its history is closely tied to the origins of Ushuaia itself.
After discovering incredible places and learning about the fascinating history and beauty of the city at the End of the World, we return with a deeper appreciation for this truly unique corner of the planet.
