THE EXPERIENCE

We depart from Ushuaia along National Route N°3, crossing the majestic Fuegian valleys and enjoying a landscape surrounded by mountains, peat bogs, and winter resorts. During the journey, we make a scenic stop to capture photos and take in the memory of these unique views. We then take Provincial Route J, entering a picturesque road lined with century-old forests, heading south towards the coast of the Beagle Channel.

Once there, we are amazed by spectacular views where the sea, the Andes, and the forest come together. Along the Beagle Channel, you can see marine production areas, such as buoys for mussel farming, working boats, and traps for king crab, locally known as the ‘red gold.’

Following the coastal road, locally referred to as the ‘King Crab Route,’ we approach the village, traveling down its only street to the fishermen’s pier, where we board the boat. On a zodiac, we sail for an hour and a half through a narrow stretch of the channel until we reach Penguin Island. There, we stop to observe and learn about the charming Magellanic and Gentoo penguins, enjoying an unforgettable experience surrounded by wild nature.

Finally, we visit a local fisherman’s restaurant to savor a delicious meal made with fresh regional products. Amid conversations and pleasant moments, we share our experiences before heading back to the city.
