THE EXPERIENCE
Live a truly unique winter experience in Ushuaia! We invite you to discover one of Tierra del Fuego’s most breathtaking natural treasures: the impressive Vinciguerra Glacier and Laguna de los Témpanos, on an adventure designed for true nature and outdoor lovers.
During the first 2 km, we hike through the snow-covered Andorra Valley, where you’ll get to see a frozen peat bog—considered one of the most remarkable in the world. This wetland, together with the meltwater river that crosses it, forms an important international freshwater reserve.
After crossing the valley, we enter Tierra del Fuego’s native forest, where the trail starts gaining elevation. As we ascend, we discover local flora and fauna adapted to winter conditions. Once we leave the forest behind, we reach the treeline and take a break by the frozen river to recharge and enjoy our first views of the glacier.
From there, we take on the final—and most challenging—snowy ascent to reach Laguna de los Témpanos, completely frozen during winter. We stop for photos and to take in the sheer scale of the glacier rising on the other side of the lagoon.
The final stretch takes us to the base of the Vinciguerra Glacier, where we can feel the ice beneath our feet, admire its crevasses, and soak up the incredible snow-covered high-mountain scenery. In this magical setting, we enjoy a comforting box lunch before beginning our descent, leaving behind a dreamlike landscape we’ll remember forever.
