THE EXPERIENCE

This unmissable trek begins at the base of the Martial Mountains, in the heart of the Andes, where the Martial winter resort operates during the colder months. Our adventure starts here, on a trail that winds through ancient native forests and follows a glacier-fed stream flowing down from the glacier itself, while we learn about the landscape, its wildlife, and geography.

After about an hour of ascent, the scenery suddenly begins to change: the trees become smaller, and the colder climate indicates that, at 600 meters above sea level, we are entering the high mountain environment. We leave the vegetation boundary behind, and after enjoying the beautiful Andean surroundings, we reach the more challenging part of the trail. In this section, mosses, lichens, and only a few birds adapted to this environment predominate.

We take a short break to appreciate the views from the spot and begin the final ascent to reach the end of the trail. At this point, we feel the majesty of the Martial Glacier and the mountains surrounding us. We explore the area in search of the best photo spots and recharge our energy before beginning the descent back to the base.
